The Covid-19 pandemic has affected global travel and tourism. However, as the situation continues to improve, there are interesting places to travel to in 2022.

No doubt about it, travelling is an integral part of human existence. People travel for various reasons, however, the majority of travellers are doing so for leisure.

But the pandemic has had terrible impacts on every industry, and most especially, travel and hospitality. However, what’s your plan after the pandemic is over?

Interesting Places to Travel to in 2022

As the economy picks back up, people such as David Geithner are questioning if the travel industry can regain the same steam it had a few years ago.

If you’re one of the millions of people who are branching back out into travel and tourism, there are plenty of places to see that can help you recharge your batteries and improve your mental health after a very trying few years.

If you love travelling and wanted to explore new places and expand your horizons, below are some of the most interesting places we think you should travel to in 2022:

#1]. Indonesia

Indonesia is a Mecca for people who want to dive into their spiritual self and improve their overall mental health, but even if that’s not the intention of your trip, it’s still a breathtaking place to visit.

Every year, around 6 million people visit Bali, Indonesia (and for good reason). Home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, there is plenty to see and do here.

Check out Kuta beach if you’re looking for some fun in the sun, or look into a meditation retreat if your intention for traveling is to dive inward.

#2]. Ireland

Ireland is a beautiful country with a rich heritage. Few countries have the rich history that Ireland possesses, and it’s a major reason that so many people travel here.

The Kilkenny Castle, which was built in 1195, is one of the country’s most popular attractions and a must-see for anyone who visits Ireland. The Cliffs of Moher is another popular landing spot, famous for its many appearances in movies and breathtaking views.

#3]. Jordan

Jordan has one of the longest inhabited cities in the world and isn’t a traditional hot spot that people travel to. However, the history of Jordan is rich and fascinating.

There are many tours that you can sign up for that can teach you more about the area than any history class you could take in college.

The history of the land dates back to 12000 B.C. and it is also home to the Dead Sea (the lowest place on earth’s land).

#4]. Greece

Whether you adore Greek food or Greek mythology has always piqued your interest, Greece is a beautiful place to visit (and an even better place to unwind).

While you’re there, you will definitely want to check out Mount Olympus (the mountain that the Greek gods lived on top of in Greek mythology). You can also hire a guide to take you sailing in the picturesque Mediterranean sea or visit the smaller villages that have a rich history.

If you really want to get to know the area, you’ll want to book a guided tour with someone who knows the deep history that belongs to Greece.

#5]. Japan

Tokyo is one of the more popular tourist destinations in Japan, but don’t forget about Kyoto, Osaka, and Nagoya if you head out that way. Popular things to do in these areas are to visit Universal Studios in Japan or check out the Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine.

If you’re a sushi fan, you will definitely want to check out some of the sushi-making classes available in Tokyo. You can learn from amazing Japanese sushi chefs and bring back an interesting (and delicious) skill to show off to your friends.
